Big Lake Schools uses both state and national standardized assessments to measure student achievement, growth and readiness for college and career.
Data collected from assessments is used in a variety of ways, including:
  • Future instruction - teachers use testing data to identify areas of individual interventions needed to challenge students more or provide additional instruction 
  • Curriculum review - testing data is used to identify curricular weaknesses and strengthens, and make changes for long-range planning
  • Reporting - data is used to report to parents and community members the status of student learning compared to area districts and state and national averages
