Offering well-balanced meals to support learning, and promoting healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime is the goal of Big Lake Schools food and nutritional services program. 
 
We participate in the National School Nutrition Program, which has very specific guidelines and regulations that schools must follow regarding
nutritional content and portions. For example, a meal is comprised of five components: a vegetable, fruit, protein, grain and milk. Students are required to choose at least three of these components, with one of the three being a fruit or vegetable.
